Producer Butch Vig is working with Green Day on the follow-up to their 2004 album 'American Idiot', according to Ex-Garbage singer Shirley Manson.
Manson, who is starring inTerminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, made the revelation during an appearance on Last Call With Carson Daly.
Asked by the host whether she planned to record with Garbage again, Manson replied: "I don't know, to be honest. We're sort of doing our different things.
"I'm doing the TV show, Butch is producing Green Day, so he's busy, so we'll see."
Although neither Vig nor Green Day have confirmed the claim, it appears to back initial reports about their apparent collaboration which surfaced in August.
Vig was responsible for Nirvana's 'Nevermind' and 'Siamese Dream' by the Smashing Pumpkins.
