Elbow Unveil Plans To Record Album For Children

Elbow are to record a new album for children, according to frontman Guy Garvey.

The band's own children have inspired their work on the project, which will begin before their forthcoming UK tour.

"We initially thought that it would be great to make music for children because the lads in the band have got kids and they were saying how little really decent music for children there is," Garvey told Billboard.

Garvey said the Mercury Prize winning group wanted to do something that “really fires kid' imaginations”.

“We've quite often been up for having songs on children's animated films, but we thought that it would be great to actually be at the starting point for that process,” he added.

Elbow have enjoyed renewed chart success after their latest album 'The Seldom Seen Kid' was awarded the esteemed album prize earlier this month.
