Britney Spears will release her new album on December 2nd, the singer's 27th birthday.
The album, entitled 'Circus', is the follow-up to 2007's 'Blackout', which was well-received by critics but never performed live by the singer.
The first song to be taken from the album, which has been produced with Max Martin and Floyd 'Danja' Hills, is entitled 'Womanizer'.
Today's announcement follows Spears triumph at last week's MTV Video Music Awards, where she took home three prizes.
The singer kicked off the ceremony in Los Angeles a year after her performance at the same event was slammed in the media.
