Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has joked that he wants to get fitted with bionic ribs after being attack by a fan on stage in Canada.
Gallagher was treated in hospital for a suspected fractured rib and ligament damage after a fan pushed him heavily onto his during Oasis' set at the Virgin Festival in Toronto.
Daniel Sullivan, 47, has been charged with assault following the incident. And the band have already been forced to cancel two shows, including one in New York tonight.
In a blog post on Oasis' website, Gallagher said he had been recovering in bed after his “severe tickling at the hands of that drunken Canadian”.
"In his defence though, he's probably having one of those mid-life crises things. Apparently it's on YouTube [it is, see below]. Imagine doing an assault on world television!?" he wrote.
He added: "Did get to watch four Seinfeld's though. And some American football, so not too dissimilar to a normal day back home. Have to get another check up tomorrow. I'm gonna ask for new bionic ribs."
In another post yesterday, the guitarist said he felt like he had endured a sparring session with British boxer Ricky Hatton.
