Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has said that band's search for a new singer is still ongoing because they don't want to find another Scott Weiland.
A number of singers, including Spacehog's Royston Langdon and Lenny Kravitz, have been linked with the position since Weiland left the group acrimoniously in April.
But Slash said that while he and the rest of the band had clicked with Langdon they agreed that his voice was too much like Weiland's to suit the group's new ambition.
"I think Royston's fantastic, but he's more in the Scott Weiland range, which is great for that, but what we want to do is something aggressive and very hard rock,” he told EW.
“Basically, what we originally planned to do the first time around that was sort of molded differently when Scott came into it."
Slash added that the search "is still ongoing. Now that we have the choice, we're gonna make sure we get the right guy."
