Former Scotland Yard Commander John O’Connor has criticised Lily Allen for revealing details of an alleged kidnap plot involving one of her friends.
Allen published a blog earlier this week in which she thanked police for “getting my friend back”, adding: “I hear you guys did an amazing job."
It's claimed that she also told the audience at Tuesday's GQ Men of the Year Awards about the abduction, which took place in West London at the beginning of August.
Allen's friend and another male companion were apparently held for a week at a house in Thamesmead before police launched a successful operation to free the pair.
Speaking to the Sun, Mr O'Connor called Allen's revelation “outrageous” and “appallingly irresponsible”.
Five men have appeared in court over the incident on charges relating to kidnapping.
