Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has compared his brother, Noel, to a grumpy character in the children's cartoon Spongebob Squarepants.
The singer, who is a fan of the TV series, revealed that he was awaiting delivery of an Andy Warhol influenced painting of Spongebob.
“SpongeBob is a ****ing mental, full-of-beans, enthusiastic sponge that lives at the bottom of the sea in Bikini Bottom. He’s mad for it,” he told Q Magazine.
“He’s got a mate called Squidward, who plays the clarinet and is grumpy like our kid Noel.”
Gallagher said that the painting would take pride of place in his living room alongside images of Elvis Presley and Jimi Hendrix.
Oasis are currently on the US leg of their world tour, which supports their new album 'Dig Out Your Soul'.
