The Futureheads – Some people had written The Futureheads off after the Sunderland's foursome's second album News and Tributes flopped in 2006. Fortunately, they returned all guns blazing this year with the fantastic 'This Is Not The World', so expect their V Festival slot to be suitably searing.

Fair enough The Hoosiers, The Feeling, Kooks, Scouting For Girls etc don’t deserve a mention, but Air Traffic are a class act, their debut album was a muddled but glorious listen, and they are a ferocious live band, as confirmed by sold out shows and massive festival crowds despite no mainstream radio play or promotion. The definition of raw British talent. Bring on album 2.
