Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty played a surprise solo show in Liverpool last night (August 8th).
Doherty performed in front of a sold out crowd, many of whom had paid upwards of £25 each to see the singer, at the city's Studio venue.
Dressed in a thick tan coloured trench coat and suit, Doherty rattled through a mixture of Babyshambles and Libertines hits during his acoustic set.
His appearance in Liverpool conflicted with recent tabloid reports that claimed he had gone on a nomadic holiday around the British Isles in a camper van.

The venue was really intimate, the downstairs section, where the gig was going on, must’ve held 250 people max, with the main capacity being in the upstairs bar.
He played a great set, no real golden oldies came out though, other than the suitably apt Breck Road Lover.
You’’ll Never Walk Alone also got a playing, as did a couple of Specials numbers half way into the set, when he told us he was going off for 10 minutes, only to carry on playing in about 5 second

- Could have been an ok gig if it wasnt for the rediculous price of the ale, (3 for a bottle and no draft). Pete couldnt take the hint to stop playing after the chorus of booo\'s during his rendition of \'you\'ll never walk alone\'. and no Pete us blues did not sing along to that in the 70\'s. Freak Show!!!!

- Seeing Pete at such an intimate venue was truely special, he was on top form looking slick as ever. The time seeing Pete never seems to be long enough for me a devoted lover. The venue sound was impressive, Im not sure the bouncers were used to holding back the crowd before. Here\'s to more gigs like this, they should be on every weekend.

- pretty good set, not that many libs tunes, and he was a bit worse for wear but nevertheless enjoyed myself. support band Gaoler\'s Daughter were awesome i thought too. sweet night all in all!
