Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill says he finds the lyrics to 'Sex On Fire', the band's new single, embarrassing to sing.
Unveiling the track for the first time last night (August 4th), Followill told the BBC that he thought it was “ridiculous” when the band first created the hook.
"I was like, 'Come on man, I gotta be singing about someone's fiery sex for a year and half?'
"It's a bold title, y'know, we're getting old and we're trying to make people think we have still have the sex drive that we did,” he said.
'Sex On Fire' is the first song to be taken from the band's new album, 'Only By The Night', which is released on September 22nd.
Followill revealed that sex is a theme that runs through the whole record.
"I think a lot of people expect a certain element of sex to our music and there's a tinge of sex throughout the record but this is the most blatant,” he said.
The band have previously stated that politics is a major theme on the album.
The tracklisting for 'Only By The Night' is:
'Closer'
'Crawl'
'Sex On Fire'
'Use Somebody'
'Manhattan'
'Revelry'
'Seventeen'
'Notion'
'I Want You'
'Be Somebody'
'Cold Desert'
