Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has paid tribute to the influence that The Who had on him and the band.

“These guys changed my whole world. It’s a big part of why I get to do what I do,” Vedder told Rolling Stone.

The singer was still able to recall the moment when he first saw the Who: June 18th 1980 at the San Diego Sports Arena.

Pearl Jam formed part of a VH1 tribute to The Who - which took place in Los Angeles last weekend.

Other bands who appeared included The Foo Fighters, Tenacious D and Flaming Lips.

As previously reported on Gigwise, The Who's Roger Daltrey hinted last week that the band may never release another album, saying they've “done enough already.”
