Organisers behind last weekend's Hop Farm festival have revealed that car park staff were assaulted as festivalgoers attempted to make their way home from the event.
The festival in Kent, which was in its inaugural year, featured performances from Neil Young, Supergrass and Primal Scream.
In a statement, organisers praised the performers and crowds at the festival but admitted that “unpleasant scenes” arose in some car parks at the close of the event.
“This resulted in our having to temporarily withdraw the marshals prior to re-assigning them in a monitoring and reporting role,” a spokesperson said.
Organisers said that the re-assigning of staff meant some festivalgoers were unable to exit the site swiftly.
They added that all the factors that had arisen would “be considered further with regard to any future events on this site. “
