Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has defended celebrities who choose to give their children unusual names.
Martin, whose own children with Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow are called Apple and Moses, said “a name is just a noise”.
He also said that if the parents were happy, then they shouldn't be concerned about what others thought.
"People make a big fuss over names. Names of babies, names of albums, names of bands,” he told Blender.
"There's nothing weird about calling your baby Chewbacca (Star Wars character) if that's what you want to call your baby. It's no stranger than Sarah.
"A name is just a noise, and, if you like it, then **** what everyone else says."
Coldplay are due to begin their US tour in Los Angeles next Monday (July 14th). The band, who are currently number one with their new album, played a number of warm up shows last month.
