Jon Bon Jovi: John Francis Bongiovi Jnr - Originally his group went under the stage name of the John Bongiovi Band. After catching record label interest, a Mercy Records' executive suggested they should be re-dubbed Bon Jovi (from his surname) to make it sound snappier. Although they weren't particularly fond of the idea they still kept it, with John even removing the 'h' from his name to create his moniker Jon Bon Jovi.
