Believe it or not, in the world of Rock n Roll, age matters; former Libertine Pete Doherty is two years too old and drug addled diva Amy Winehouse two years too young. We are of course talking about the mythical private members only 27 Club, the collective grouping of musicians who died at the age of 27. The Club was created in 1969 when a number of renowned musicians died within years of each other, each shrouded in mystery. There’s no dress code, guest list or kicking out time and its doors are always open, providing you’re old enough to get in that is. Coincidence, conspiracy, speculation, mystery, tragedy and fate; its all there, click through the gallery below to see which unfortunate musicians are bona fide members.

- this is an intense line up of great musicians! Unfortunately they left us too soon!

- this sux jimi hendrix and kurt cobain died ****ing drugs and guns and women

- Although this is contentious, Richie Edwards of the Manic Street Preachers also disappeared at 27 I think. He can’t be an official member of the 27 club as his body was never found even though its suspected he jumed off the severn bridge
