Broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan says he will consider his future as the UK’s host of Eurovision after the country finished joint last in Belgrade last night.
UK entrant Andy Abrahams received just 14 points from twenty-four voting countries in the song contest, which was won by Russia.
Sir Terry said Eurovision was “no longer a music contest” and that the future prospects for Western European countries looked “poor”.
"I have to decide whether I want to do this again,” he said, after the result was announced.
Russia won the contest with Dima Bilan’s entry ‘Believe’, which was produced by US producer Timbaland.
Although Sir Terry congratulated Russia, he said Abrahams gave “the performance of his life with a song that certainly deserved more than it got.”
Ukraine finished second in the competition with Greece coming in third place.
