Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch, has apparently called for her manager to be awarded with the music equivalent of the Victoria Cross.
Mr Winehouse made the claim as he accepted an Ivor Novello award on behalf of his daughter at a ceremony in London this afternoon (May 22nd).
Speaking from the stage, Mr Winehouse said: "I don't know what I'm doing up here. Amy couldn't make it, but she is getting better and sends you all her love."
"She wants to thank her manager Ray. If there's a Victoria Cross in music then he should get it."
Winehouse was awarded the prestigious songwriting prize for her song ‘Love Is A Losing Game’.
Phil Collins and Take That also picked up Ivor Novello’s this afternoon, with the later being recognised for having the most played song in ‘Shine’.
