US rapper Ne-Yo believes Leona Lewis’s talent will continue to “carry her in the US”.
Ne-Yo, who wrote ‘I’m You’, which features on Lewis’s number one debut album ‘Spirit’, described the singer as a “beautiful person inside and out”.
“She’s not just a pretty face – her voice is undeniable,” he added.
Lewis was replaced at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 on Wednesday (May 14th) by Rihanna.
The former X-Factor winner’s ‘Bleeding Love’ has spent a total of six non-consecutive weeks on top of the US singles countdown since it was released last December.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Ne-Yo also praised Welsh songstress Duffy, who has launched her own bid to break America.
The rapper, who was introduced to the singer’s music by producer LA Reid, said that he really loved her voice.
“You guys have lots of talent,” he said. “Lately people come to me and ask me to write for them and sometimes I invite them to my studio, or sometimes it’s custom-made.”
