Slipknot singer Corey Taylor believes that the band’s new album will have the capability to “rip your face off”.
The band are currently recording the follow-up to ‘Vol 3: The Sublime Verses’ in Iowa.
Speaking to Billboard, Taylor said he doesn’t think the world will be ready for the album - which he described as "very dark".
"It has so much power in it and yet there are so many great spots for melody," he said. "It's a controlled chaos that hits you right out of the gate."
Talking about the album’s lyrics, Taylor said: "Instead of bitching about what went wrong in my life, I'm bitching about what's wrong in life, period.”
He also revealed that his vocals were more melodic than on the band’s previous three albums because "I got to the point where I was tired of pretending that I couldn't sing every time I made a Slipknot album, so this time I'm going all out."
The as-yet-untitled LP is scheduled for release in August.
