Pete Doherty has admitted to cheating on a drugs test shortly before he was sentenced to jail last month.
The Babyshambles singer said that he only passed the test because he used someone else’s urine sample.
"I was pretty much back into the [heroin] cycle. I was banging it,” Doherty explained.
Doherty was released from Wormwood Scrubs prison last week, after serving just 29 days of a 14-week sentence for probation violation.
Speaking to the NME, Doherty said his imprisonment was “fair cop”.
But the singer said that tabloid reports suggesting he had been taking drugs inside prison were “complete rubbish”.
Doherty said that he took the heroin replacement drug Sebutex during his prison stay and that he doesn’t think he has “ever been healthier.”
Babyshambles will play the Forum in London tonight (May 13th) to celebrate the singer’s release from prison.
