James Bond actor Daniel Craig has said it would be “fantastic” if Amy Winehouse could sing the theme tune to the next Bond film.
Craig said he was a “huge fan” of the singer, but added that he wasn’t aware of her recent problems because he has “been busy doing other things.”
Reports have continued to link Winehouse with the coveted role over recent months.
Speaking last month, producer Mark Ronson confirmed that the singer had begun work on a song for the film but wasn’t sure whether producers would use it.
He later said, however, that work on the project had ended because Winehouse was “not ready to record any music”.
Speaking to the BBC, Craig said: “I mean it would be amazing if she could – she’s got an amazing voice and it think it would lend itself beautifully to this but we’ll see.”
Over the weekend, Winehouse was spotted walking up and down the M40 Motorway after getting stuck in traffic.
