Led Zeppelin will mark their 40th anniversary with a £250million world tour, according to reports.
Calls for the band to reform for a full world tour have been relentless since they played a one-off show at the O2 Arena in London last December.
Yesterday (May 9th), David Coverdale, the frontman of Whitesnake and a long-term friend of the band, said the tour was “very likely”.
"I'm expecting a call from Jimmy any day asking my band Whitesnake to support them on their world tour. Am I on board? You bet. Probably worth billions,” he said.
"Unlike rolling out the wheelchairs with the umpteenth Rolling Stones world tour, a Led Zeppelin tour will be incredible."
Led Zeppelin have previously said that they would wait until September for other touring commitments to finish before deciding whether to announce new shows.
However, according to today’s Mirror, the tour is now inevitable and could take place as early as the end of their year.
The paper also claims that each member stands to make as much as £10million each from touring.

- Another rumor. People get a grip. I think Coverdale was joking.

- WooHoo! Hope it’s true!

- ..I hope new material is part of any tour. A new CD would be great.

- Wherever I can get a ticket I will be there.

- If Coverdale is the source you gotta be dreaming. No way he knows anything.
