Coldplay have signed a deal with the American television network ESPN which will see their music used during the broadcasters coverage of Euro 2008.
The network will use songs from the band’s new album ‘Viva La Vida’ during the entire football tournament – which kicks off in Austria next month.
ESPN will broadcast the band’s songs in the US, Canada, Mexico, India and South America.
Coldplay’s much anticipated fourth album ‘Viva La Vida’ is released on June 12th.
To coincide with the album’s release the band will play three free concerts – in New York, Barcelona and London – in June.
‘Violet Hill’, the first single from the album was released on digital-download this week.
