Amy Winehouse, Queen and Razorlight will all play at Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday concert in London this summer.
Leona Lewis, Annie Lennox and Dame Shirley Bassey will also play at the event – which will take place in Hyde Park on June 27th.
All the proceeds from the concert will go to 46664 campaign, which raises awareness about the impact of AIDS and promotes effective HIV prevention measures throughout the world.
A number of surprise acts are expected to perform, although they are “keeping silent about their involvement in order to take both Mr Mandela and the audience by surprise.”
Speaking about the concert, Mr Mandela said his “friends and the charitable organisations that bear my name want to use my 90th birthday year to raise funds to continue our work and so of course I want to help them.”
People can register for tickets to the concert, which will be hosted by Will Smith, now by going to the event’s official website.
They will then have exclusive access to a ticket pre-sale which begins tomorrow (May 7th) at 9am.
