Ultravox Announce April 2010 UK Tour Tickets go on sale this Friday...

Ultravox have announced a second UK tour since their reformation this year.
Midge Ure and co. will play six shows next April, a tour which has been dubbed '‘Return To Eden Part II’'
Ure said of the jaunt: “We have all agreed to perform a handful of shows in the UK in 2010 to coincide with the release of the live DVD we recorded at the Roundhouse back in April. It just seems like a great way to leave a little addition to our substantial legacy before we all move on.”
Tickets for the tour go on sale through the Gigwise Gig Tickets section from 9am this Friday (November 27).

Michael Jackson's Moonwalk Glove Sell For $350k At auction in New York...

Michael Jackson's Moonwalk glove fetched £350,000 (£212,000) at auction in New York on Saturday.
The rhinestone encrusted glove is regarded as the ultimate piece of Jackson memorabilia and was snapped up by Hong Kong businessman Hoffman Ma on behalf of a hotel in Macau China where it will be on permanent display.
Jackson first Moonwalked while wearing the glove on Motown's 25th Anniversary Special TV show in May 1983.
Elsewhere in the auction, which sold 70 lots, a jacket worn by Jackson on the Bad Tour in 1989 sold for $225,000 and a fedora hat for $22,000.

KISS Confirm May 2010 UK and Ireland Tour They play five arena dates...

KISS have announced details of a UK and Ireland tour for May 2010.
Part of a much larger European tour, titled 'Sonic Boom Over Europe: From The Beginning To The Boom', the rock veterans play shows in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London.
The shows follow the release of KISS's 19th studio album 'Sonic Boom' in October.
Gene Simmons said of the shows: “Now. More than Ever. KISS is a four wheel drive monster truck. Our mission? To rock Planet Earth. To spread the gospel of Sonic Boom”
Tickets for the shows are priced £40 (plus booking fee) and are available through the Gigwise Gig Tickets section from 9am this Friday (November 27).

U2 To Headline Friday Night Of Glastonbury 2010 It's reported today...

U2 are set to headline the opening night of Glastonbury 2010, it's been reported.
The rock veterans have never played the festival before but in recent years have been high on Michael Eavis' wish list. Now it seems the farmer's dream has become reality.
Marking the Worthy Farm festival's 40th anniversary, U2 will play the Friday night on June 25th with two more big names to be announced.
A source told The Sun: "Everyone is over the moon that the deal has been done.

Leona Lewis and X Factor Finalists' Michael Jackson Cover Top UK Charts The talent show dominates...

The 12 X Factor Finalists of 2009 have topped the UK singles chart with their charity cover of Michael Jackson's 'You Are Not Alone'.
All proceeds from the version of Jackson's 1995 hit song go to Great Ormond Street children's hospital.
As well as the number one, three more of the tracks inside the top ten are X Factor affiliated – Leona Lewis' 'Happy' at four, Cheryl Cole's 'Fight For This Love' at five and JLS' 'Everybody In Love at six.
Over on the album chart, Leona Lewis scored her second number one record with 'Echo', toppling JLS' eponymous effort which sold 28,000 less, according to the Official Charts Company.

F*cked Up, DJ Champion Close M For Montreal 2009 With crowd-pleasing sets...

The 2009 edition of M for Montreal came to a close last night with a headlining performance from Fucked Up.
The Toronto band unleashed a raucous set at Metropolis, playing songs from their Polaris Music Prize-winning album ‘The Chemistry of Common Life’.
Singer Damian Abraham took to the crowd after one song and spent the rest of the set crashing into members of the audience.
Fucked Up’s performance came at the end of a long final night in Canada, which began with sets from Xavier Caféïne and Mistress Barbara.

Lady Gaga To Perform For The Queen In Blackpool At this year's Royal Variety Performance...

Lady Gaga will sing in front of the Queen at this year's Royal Variety Performance.
Taking place on December 7 at the Blackpool Opera House, it will be Gaga's first high profile television appearance since her infamous MTV Video Music Awards show.
The 23-year-old – real name Stefani Germanotta – hit the headlines at the VMA's in September when she pretended to stab herself and bled fake blood whilst singing 'Paparazzi'.
A mental health charity in the UK, PAPYRUS, later condemned Gaga's performance for 'romanticising suicide.'

DD/MM/YYYY and Silver Starling both shone on day two of M for Montreal in Canada last night (November 20).
The two bands were among a six acts who took to the stage at Cabaret/Studio Juste.
Performing to a near-capacity audience, Silver Starling impressed with their Arcade Fire inspired delicate folk-pop.
Experimental outfit DD/MM/YYYY, meanwhile, got the crowds jumping with a set that showcased a vast range of unconventional musicianship.

Think About Life Trigger Stage Invasion At M For Montreal Day one comes to a hectic conclusion...

Think About Life triggered a stage invasion as they closed the opening day of M for Montreal in Canada last night (November 19).
The local four-piece impressed a capacity crowd at Cabaret/Studio Juste with tracks from their second album ‘Family’.
Singer Martin Cesar was on energetic form throughout the 30-minute set, bounding across the stage with nonstop enthusiasm.
And at one point the frontman even disappeared from view to grab a bag full of balloons, which he then hurled into the audience.
