October 27, 2005 by Scott Colothan

The Beach Boys are threatening a British auction house with legal proceedings for putting lots up for sale that were allegedly stolen from the group.

Cooper Owen are selling the 28 items today (October 27) and may face civil action from the sixties supergroup.

As the BBC reports, the band claim that the theft of the items is already being investigated by police and they will sue the people that put the pieces up for sale.

The Beach Boys’ label Brother Records Inc. said through a statement “The FBI and Interpol may also become involved in the investigation.”

The sale includes original Beach Boys lyrics, hand written lyric sheets for tracks like ‘God Only Knows’ and original Beach Boys contracts.

The auction house Cooper Owen has yet to comment on the allegations.
