Test Icicles have responded to the barrage of boos and pint glasses that welcomed them onstage during their Liverpool gig on Friday.
As reported by Gigwise yesterday the trio were derided by the ‘Arctic Army’ for their performance in support of Arctic Monkeys and played barely five songs after some technical hitches and a late arrival.
Speaking to Gigwise on Saturday night they admitted that they’d put on a pretty bad show, guitarist Rory Aggwelt explained: “Basically we were late. It’s really hectic at the moment. We didn’t have time to sound check never mind warm up. We turned up and did our thing. We were really shit and we know that.”
Fellow fret shredder Devonte Hynez added: “We can’t expect people to like us when we’re so shit. Some people like us, some people just don’t get us.”
Aggwelt went on to add that because the majority of the audience were Arctic Monkeys fans it made it worse, he said: “They just didn’t get us and I don’t think people were there to see us.”
Test Icicles release their debut album ‘For Screening Purposes Only’ on October 31.
