Test Icicles were sensationally booed off by the ‘Arctic Army’ during an Arctic Monkeys headlining gig at the weekend.
Some fans had paid around £50 to ticket touts to get in to the extremely intimate gig at Liverpool’s Barfly and took great exception to the support act.
Shortly after Test Icicles played recent single ‘Circle. Square. Triangle’, large sections of the crowd turned hostile and started booing the electro-punk trio.
Plastic beer glasses were thrown towards the stage, and the antagonism grew and mass cries of “you’re ****ing shit” were heard when the band were forced to cut short the set due to a technical hitch on ‘Boa vs. Python’.
Guitarist and singer with the band Devonte Hynez reacted to the hostilities by saying “Yeah, we’re shit.”
Clearly dejected, the band left the stage after playing a mere five song set.
Arctic Monkeys went on to headline the 400 capacity gig which marked their final tour date before hitting the number 1 slot.
Disappointingly the Arctic Monkeys didn’t comment on the extremely aggressive reaction that their Domino label mates received.
