REM original line-up reunited for only the second time since Bill Berry left the band, to play at a friends wedding.
Michael Stipe, Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Berry played a seven song set for their guitar technician Dewit Burton at the bash in their native Athens, Georgia.
A crowd of just 300 watched them perform hits like ‘The One I Love’, ‘Sitting Still’ and ‘Radio Free Europe’ at the bowling alley reception room.
Mike Mills said on the band’s official website: “It was awesome to look behind me and see Bill on drums.”
The impromptu gig was the first time the four had played together since a concert in Raleigh, Carolina during the 2003 ‘In Time’ Tour.
