R & B star D’Angelo is being treated in hospital after suffering serious injuries in a car accident last week.
Virginia State Police admitted that the singer swerved off a road into a fence before turning over, in the incident on September 19.
D’Angelo was not wearing a seat belt during the accident where another person, Lynne Sellers was also injured. It’s not yet clear who was driving the car.
The accident comes soon after D’Angelo was given a three year suspended sentence after pleading guilty to felony cocaine possession. He was arrested near Richmond in January this year when police found marijuana and cocaine in his car.
