Wrinkly rockers Status Quo have been officially named as the band with more hit singles than anyone else in UK chart history.
The rock dinosaurs have notched up an incredible 61 hit singles in their 37 year history - nine more than their nearest rivals Queen.
Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt first dented the charts in 1968 with their seminal hit ‘Pictures of Matchstick Men’ and last charted in 2004 with the abominable ‘You’ll Come Around’.
Elsewhere in the Guinness Book of Records top ten The Rolling Stones have clocked up 51 hits, while Depeche Mode and U2 have both scored 40 chart entries.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Rossi and Parfitt are set to appear in three episodes of Coronation Street set to be aired later this month.
