A man has been sentenced to a years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to attacking Dr Dre during last year’s vibe awards.
Jimmy James Johnson was also given three years probation and told to stay clear from Dre for three years at the trial on Wednesday (September 13).
27-year-old Johnson admitted to punching Dre after asking for his autograph at the awards bash on November 12. Dre was stepping up to receive a lifetime achievement gong when he was attacked.
The incident started a much larger brawl in which rapper Young Buck is alleged to have stabbed Johnson. Buck – real name David Darnell Brown – has pleaded not guilty and is currently on bail awaiting trial.
