Balding rockers Status Quo will be appearing in Coronation Street as part of ITV’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.
They will be making their mark on The Street by bashing the man we all love to hate Les Battersby.
The story line is that the Quo drop into the Rovers Return before playing a gig in Manchester, someone spots then and rushed to tell super fan Les that they are in the Rovers.
But when they meet Francis Rossi recognises Les as the deranged fan who assaulted him during a gig way back when…
The band then have a pop at him and Les is left lying in the gutter…class.
Speaking to ManchesterOnline, Rossi said: "Both Rick and I are lifelong fans of Coronation Street so to be in the Rovers with the regulars is an ambition fulfilled."
Rick Parfitt added: "We never miss an episode, down to our gigs beginning after 8.15pm so we can see the show in our dressing rooms. Being in Coronation Street is like being part of British history."
The Quo will feature in the episode broadcast on September 23, but they will be popping up again as Les and Cilla’s wedding later this year…that’s rock and roll kids.
