Rod StewartAging rocker Rod Stewart has been ordered to pay a Las Vegas Casino $2million for cancelling a gig when he was recovering from throat cancer.

The 60-year-old was paid the huge advance to play at the Rio Hotel Casino on New Year weekend 2000, but yesterday (September 7) a jury decided that he should give the money back.

Rod underwent surgery in May that year and maintained to the court that he was within his rights to keep the advance he was offered and promised to perform at another show.

The casino snubbed this saying that a re-arranged date would not be as commercially lucrative as a New Year show and won the argument in the Las Vegas court.

According to his agent, Rod is now planning an appeal.

Surely $2million is just a dip in the ocean for the multi millionaire?
