Mystery Jets

Hailing from Eel Pie Island, Twickenham, England the Mystery Jets are Blaine Harrison (lead vocals, keyboards, percussion, effects) Henry Harrison (vocals, guitar, keyboards, percussion), William Rees (guitar, vocals, percussion, keyboards), Kai Fish (bass, vocals) and Kapil Trivedi (drums).

It all started when Blaine met William when they were very young and decided to make one of those bands that kids do, but due to the helpful influence of Henry (Blaine’s Father) the first inklings of Mystery Jets appeared as he joined the band on second guitar. Then joined by Kai on bass and a fifth member know as Tamara on Keyboards, Mystery Jets set upon recording their first and self titled EP. This line-up was not meant to be as soon after said recording Tamara parted ways with the band leaving Blaine to take up keyboard duties, along the way roping in a friend of William’s to play drums for the band. Yet again the line-up was set for change as Mystery Jets would soon sack their drummer in exchange for a drum machine for some time, until Trivedi answered their online advertisement for a drummer. Mystery jets finally had a solid line-up and would go on to record their second EP entitled ‘Eel Pie island EP’ and then a limited 7’ of ‘Zoo Time’ under Transgressive.

679 Recordings would soon sign Mystery Jets as the buzz around them was continuing to grow, and would thus give them the means to release four singles and a full length album.
