Music lovers flooding over to Ireland’s Electric Picnic festival this weekend in Co Laois, are being warned about hidden costs being plotted by the event’s organisers.
Despite the fact that fans have already paid 135 euros for concert and camping tickets, they are going to be choked for an extra 10 euros for stage timetables. Not to mention Bus Eireann’s extortionate 35 euro fee for return tickets from Dublin to the Stradbally Hall venue.
Consumers Association chief executive Dermot Jewell spluttered: "We really do need to grab a lot of things by the scruff of the neck, drag them out into the open and explain that these are unfair, unrealistic prices."
Before continuing to breakingnews.ie: "Consumers can play their part as best they can by ignoring them when possible, but realistically, it's business and the providers of the service who are going to have to acknowledge that they can't continue to charge these stupid and outrageous prices forever."
The festival’s combination of glitter pools, fairies and tip-top acts including Kraftwerk, Arcade Fire, Goldfrapp, Soulwax and Mr Scruff – should cheer up skint punters though…
