As if it wasn’t enough that they’ve got their remix album out next week (cunningly titled ‘Silent Alarm Remixed’), Bloc Party have announced that they will be releasing their first new material since the million-selling debut album ‘Silent Alarm’ this Autumn.
The new single, ‘Two More Years’, will be backed by another new song, ‘Hero’, and The Streets’ remix of ‘Banquet’; out on October 3.
It has also been revealed that the band have twenty songs ready for their second album, and anyone catching them on their October tour should look forward to getting a taster.
On top of all that they have moved their Edinburgh gig on October 2 from Usher Hall to the Corn Exchange to squeeze an extra three hundred fans in to see their show. The gig will also only be standing now, so you’d best wear your dancing shoes.
Sadly if you don’t have tickets already, the entire UK tour has sold out, but just to rub salt into the wound, here’s the dates:
