Green Day were forced to cancel a concert in Ohio last night (August 14) after a member of the band was struck down with an illness.
Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, reports suggest that frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has been taken ill.
Thousands of fans were left waiting outside the Nutter Centre in Dayton, Ohio but just after 5.30pm a spokeswoman confirmed the concert wouldn’t go ahead and a band member was unwell.
The spokeswoman also quashed rumours circulating outside the venue that Billie Joe had been hospitalised due to the illness.
Fans have been urged to keep hold of their original tickets as an announcement about a re-arranged date is expected to be made later this week.
It’s not yet clear whether tonight’s scheduled gig at the, ahem, Gaylord Ent Center in Nashville will go ahead.
