Green Day have had to pull out of the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience festival in New Orleans because lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong remains in rehab.
The American band were due to play the festival at the end of the month but bassist Mike Dirnt has had to apologise for disappointing Green Day's loyal New Orleans fans. On Monday (October 8th) the band released a press statement with Dirnt explaining:
"Cancelling shows is something we rarely do. We never want to let our fans down, and we are grateful for all of you being understanding during this time."
Singer Armstrong checked himself into a treatment centre last month following his angry antics at a Las Vegas gig. Armstrong smashed his guitar and went on a foul mouthed tirade after being told to end Green Day's set early so Usher could perform.
