Top of The Pops Is In Decline

Viewing figures have halved since its move to BBC2...

Top of The Pops has seen its viewing figures plummet massively yet again.

The long-standing show was switched to BBC2 last month from its BBC1 home where it resided for over 40 years.

An average 2.4million people watched the last four Friday night shows on the Beeb’s main channel, but now only around 1.1million people are tuning in to the new Sunday slot.

However, Beeb bosses are putting a brave face on things. A spokeswoman said: “We always knew Top of the Pops would undergo a period of adjustment. For us, this is not a problem but a sound transfer."

Maybe getting more decent bands on the show may help things?
