After finally confirming her involvement with the new James Bond movie, Adele will premiere her Bond theme 'Skyfall' on Friday of this week.

The track is a suitably epic-sounding track, bigger and bolder than the intimacy of the tracks heard on her smash album 21. Adele has also released a statement speaking of her initial uncertainty at getting involved with the project.

“I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall," she says. "There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end.

The singer came out of her self-imposed hiatus from music while she is pregnant with her first child to record the track, and spoke of the thrill of recording the track at Abbey Road studios with a 77-piece orchestra.

"It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I've never done, which made it exciting," she adds. "When we recorded the strings it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I'm sure!”

The track will premiere in full on 5 October 2012 at 0:07 in the morning.
