Kylie Minogue has spoken of her anger at paparazzi who took topless photos of Kate Middleton while promoting her new movie, Holy Motors.

The singer was speaking at the premiere of her new movie Holy Motors, and branded the paparazzi as 'awful'.

"For me, that story and any like it, I don't see why that's not considered to be like a peeping Tom and that's creepy," she told Sky News. "It's awful."

The star also admitted that filming her role in new film Holy Motors meant that she had to stop 'being Kylie' and revert back to being an actress for the first time again.

After focusing on pop music for so long, Kylie has taken on the role in the French film where she plays an air hostess alongside Eva Mendes and Denis Lavant.

Speaking about her return to the screen, Kylie told the AP: "It's good to be acting again. It terrifies me in a completely different way and I almost had to unlearn things that I just do naturally, as being 'Kylie'. So, I think I had extra work to get rid of that and to be believable as this character."

Kylie, who performs the song 'Who Were We' in the film, added: "It was all done live in the scene. I don't know how many takes we did but it was all done in situ. And I had to find my path to go from speaking to bursting into song, which seems quite odd. And not performing that like I would one of my own songs.

"My voice was more prepared than the rest of me - that's what I do. But the first time I heard the song I was welling up. It's such beautiful song, so I think that aided me."

Kylie Minogue's previous acting credits include Street Fighter and Neighbours.
