12 September, 2012: Last night in London the nominations for the 2012 Mercury Music Prize nominations were announced at an exclusive event, with many of the nominated artists taking to the red carpet.
Among those turning up to collect their nomination were rapper Plan B and the coolest lady in British pop, Jessie Ware - who looked thrilled with her inclusion on the shortlist of one of the UK's most esteemed music awards. Also on the red carpet were Richard Hawley - who couldn't be separated from his pint of Guiness plus nominees including The Maccabees, Django Django and many more.
PJ Harvey won the Mercury Prize in 2011 for her album 'Let England Shake'. Other acts to win the prize in recent years include The xx, Klaxons, Elbow, Arctic Monkeys and Speech Debelle.
The Mercury Music Prize is eligible to be won by any British artist who released an album between 12 July 2011 and 10 September 2012.
