Cher Lloyd has channelled her inner Mystic Meg to predict that One Direction will have a "very long and successful career".

The singer also said that she hasn't spoken to her fellow X-Factor contestants in quite a long time, but that she thinks UK artists should stick together and support each other when in the US.

Speaking about the boyband, who are conveniently also on the same label (Simon Cowell's Syco), the 'Want U Back' singer told Sugarscape: "I haven't seen them in a long time but when I go out there all my fans are always raving about them, it's great.

"We're on the same label in the UK and I think the UK artists should stick together," Lloyd added.

But the singer said she sometimes felt as if some artists weren't supportive enough of fellow UK stars abroad.

"There's been a few incidents where sometimes you don't feel as if you've got a connection with a certain someone and then they go to America and they say something nasty about you.

She continued: "You think, 'You're from the UK, why have you done that?' The one thing I can say about One Direction is I feel like they're going to have a very long and successful career."

Lloyd's 'Want U Back' single has sold more than 1 million copies in the US, where she has performed on various TV and radio shows.

This is in stark contrast to her success in UK, where she was recently pelted with cups of urine at V Festival in Chelmsford.
