It's been a while since the UK has seen the success of a novelty hit single, but this week holiday party anthem 'Bom Bom' by Sam and The Womp has claimed the UK No.1 spot.

The tacky dance anthem topples UK star Rita Ora from the top spot as she falls to No.2 on this week's chart. WIley's 'Heatwave' falls to No.3 and Emeli Sande's 'Read All About It Pt.3' drops to No.4.

US teen star Taylor Swift scores another huge hit at No.5 with her insanely catchy new single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' at No.5. The single has already broken sales records, selling more copies in its first week than any other single by a female solo singer, ever. Also new in the Top Ten is Devlin's Ed Sheeran collaboration, 'Watchtower'.

Simple Plan score a new hit hit with 'Summer Paradise' at No.12 and Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen's duet 'Good Time' is new at No.17. Icelandic stars Of Monsters And Men continue their ascent with slow-burning success, 'Little Talks', which climbs to No.21. The single has topped the charts in Ireland and hopes are high it can repeat the same success in the UK.

fun. score a second success with new single 'Some Nights' which is new at No.24 and Muse's 'Madness' charts at No.35.

On the album chart, Emeli Sande remains on top with her Our Version Of Events album while Bloc Party, The Darkness, Jessie Ware and Trey Songz all score new entries in the album chart Top Ten.
