As reported on Gigwise, fans queued up from 5am in Dalston in order to be one of the first 250 people through the door to see the band performing their smallest show for many years.
Once in the door though, things got hot with the band Tweeting their fans to say: "We are on in 30 minutes. This room is smaller than we thought. Maybe we shouldn’t have brought the lazers…"
Tweeting after the gig, fans were unanimous in the success of the gig, as well as just how hot it was in the 'intimate' venue.
@DavidEmery posted to say, "Bloc Party at Birthdays. Sweaty. Immense." Whilst @Rory_Phillips added: "Just watched @BlocParty play the smallest, hottest gig I've seen them at since Trash back in 2004. Now think I have sweat poisoning."
Summing up the feeling of luck that many fans at the gig had, @Londonlobster posted to say: "11 people is all that stood between us and @BlocParty last night. Welcome anytime."
Bloc Party's setlist from Birthdays, Daslton (22 Aug) was as follows:
So He Begins To Lie
Hunting For Witches
Song For Clay
One More Chance
This Modern Love
