Cher Lloyd has personally thanked her fans for support shown after she was booed and had a bottle of urine thrown at her during her performance at V Festival.

The singer was hit with a barrage of boos when she was only midway through the first song of her set. She was later said to have quit the stage in tears at the end of her festival performance.

The 'Want U Back' singer later took to Twitter to thank fans for their support following the event.

"Thank you so much for all the nice messages, shame that a couple of people had to ruin it, unfortunately a glass bottle got thrown at me on stage," she Tweeted. "Tomorrow is another day,big love to my brats!!!"

Professor Green earlier spoke out in support of Cher after her V experience. Taking to Twitter to defend his fellow pop star, Professor Green spoke sense saying: "someone needs to have a word with themselves... how f*cking disgusting can people be? chin up @cherlloyd xx "

"It's easier to walk away from a stage if you don't like an artist than it is to fill a bottle with piss and launch it, surely?"

Remembering his own on-stage nightmares, Green continued: "I got hit with a pound coin once. I suspect it cost the person who threw it more than it did me..."
