Kasabian guitarist Serge Pizzorno has said that he thinks Danny Boyle mucked-up by not getting the band involved in the Olympic Opening Ceremony.
The 'Underdog' star was speaking on XFM, and said: “Danny, what were you thinking? We’ve got a song called 'Fire' and there’s a massive cauldron being set alight – it would have been perfect. I’ve enjoyed every second of the Olympics though, even the archery."
Pizzorno went on to speak about his view of the Olympics in general, saying it was a good inspiration for children.
"It’s great to see my nieces and nephews talking about actual inspirational people on TV rather than the usual Saturday night talent show nonsense.”
Kasabian are set to headline this year's Reading and Leeds festivals, and in the run-up to the bank holiday, the band are playing an official warm-up gig at Brixton Academy later this month. For tickets and more information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
