Cole Alexander and Jared Swilley of The Black Lips posted a picture of themselves kissing in front of fast food restaurant 'Chick-Fil-A' as part of a nationwide reaction to the fast food chain's anti-gay principles.
The American fried chicken chain 'Chick-Fil-A' has been embroiled in controversy recently after president of the company, Dan Cathy, said that the company supported the 'Biblical definition of the family unit'.
Activists took to Facebook to announce that a 'National Same-Sex Kiss Day' was to be held in front of any one of the country's 1600 Chick-Fil-A's on Friday.
Alexander and Swilley took to Twitter to post the picture of them kissing, writing "Black Lips headed to chick fil a! Can't decide what's gonna taste better, a chicken sandwich, or Jared's tongue shoved down my throat."
The band then went on to tweet numerous times on the subject, for example: "Oh no they didn't just buy some sandwiches while they were at it!#don'tgiveafuk"
Unfortunately the number of protestors was outweighed by the number of social conservatives who showed up to restaurants to show their solidarity with the company.
Some democratic mayors have threatened to have outlets of the chain removed from their cities, however republicans such as Sarah Palin have shown public support for the company.
