Having met at Westminster University through a love of bands such as Super Furry Animals and Pink Floyd, Pure Reason Revolution released their debut single in 2004 on Alan McGee's Poptones label, the cosmically titled 'Apprentices Of The Universe'.
Originating from Reading, Watford and Manchester respectively, the band received a number of impressive reviews after that release, while in 2005 they released the follow-up 12-minute track 'The Bright Amabassadors Of Morning' in April 2005. This all culminated in the release of the mini-album 'Cautionary Tales For The Brave', after signing to Song BMG.
Pure Reason Revolution certainly do not suffer from a lack of ambition, having already made it clear they wish to emulate their heroes and write a follow-up to the Floyd classic 'Dark Side Of The Moon'.
They also have no problem with comparisons being made to other successful acts, having already displayed a willingness to feed the hype machine, which helped them land a slot at the prestigious South-by-Southwest festival in Texas in 2005.
Their first full-length album, 'The Dark Third' was due out in April 2006.
